The Paradox of the Mirror

Audience Choice winner for Squeaky Wheel Fringe 2025
The Paradox of the Mirror is a mysterious work combining dance, video, and painting to explore the relationship between time, identity, and memory. The work draws inspiration from Cuban artist Guillermo López González's depiction of the mangrove and its diverse forms.
The magical mangrove roots become a metaphor for identity and memory . . . our connection to the past, while its growth and sinuous movement suggest evolution and change. Herein lies the paradox of the mirror, where our present and inner realities reflect and alter each other, intertwining in a timeless dance.
